Ingredients
- 2 brown onions, diced
- 4 chicken marylands or use a mixture of chicken drumsticks, thigh and wings
- 1 bulb of garlic (not 1 clove)
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 6 large sprigs of fresh thyme
- 1 Tablespoon A.M Cleanse Bone Broth Body Glue
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1.5 cups of boiling filtered water
- Zest + juice of 2 small lemons
- Coconut oil, ghee, butter or olive oil for frying
Oven Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 130-140C.
- Remove the skins from garlic cloves and roughly chop them all.
- Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add some oil and fry the onions until translucent. Then add the garlic and fry until fragrant and until they start to brown.
- Push the onion and garlic mix to the side of the frying pan. Place the chicken skin side down onto the frying pan and cook for a few minutes, or until golden brown. Flip the chicken pieces and cook to seal off the chicken and brown.
- While the chicken is browning, mix the A.M Cleanse Bone Broth Body Glue with 1.5 cups of boiling water.
- Add all of the remaining ingredients into the pan and allow the liquid to deglaze the frying pan.
- Now transfer everything into an ovenproof dish. Place it into the oven and make sure the lid is slightly ajar to allow some of the steam to escape. Cook for 3-3.5 hours (when you check it, the chicken should be falling off the bone).
- Taste and season with a little salt if needed just before serving. Serve with rice and veggies or cauliflower puree and veggies.
